Perspective Germany were commissioned to develop a creative solution to accommodate a new medical centre within a listed building. By reconfiguring the first floor space to include a large wall opening, a direct connection to the private clinic has been achieved. At this intersection a new elevator is placed to make the medical practices for endocrine and abdominal surgery, shoulder surgery and the vascular centre on three different floor levels accessible. Another structural intervention in the form of a new reinforced concrete slab was necessary to accommodate a new magnetic resonance tomograph on the first floor. The exterior roof and façades were planned in accordance with the historic preservation authority.
